15th September 2026 – (Hong Kong) Papahome, the bricks‑and‑mortar furniture concept linked to Alibaba’s Taobao platform, will cease operations at its flagship in China Hong Kong City, Tsim Sha Tsui, on 20th September and reopen next month in an upgraded two‑level space at Fashion Walk, Causeway Bay. The new flagship will span over 35,000 square feet—more than twice the size of the current store—and will introduce Papacafe alongside beauty and wellness offerings and a customised furniture service.
The company said the relocation is part of a brand upgrade following about eighteen months in the Hong Kong market. The expanded site is designed to showcase a wider curation while enhancing in‑store experiences through dining, lifestyle and made‑to‑order options that align with evolving consumer preferences in the city.
Investor Jackson Wang, who has highlighted his Hong Kong roots, is involved with Papahome and is expected to help hand‑pick merchandise from Taobao to infuse a distinctive aesthetic into the furniture range. The move aims to leverage Causeway Bay’s high footfall and Fashion Walk’s mixed retail environment to broaden reach beyond the original Tsim Sha Tsui base.
Market chatter had suggested Papahome would open a second outlet in Causeway Bay, with speculation centring on Thai Kong Building at 482 Hennessy Road. The brand has now clarified that the initiative is a straight relocation and store upgrade rather than a multi‑site expansion, meaning Papahome will continue to operate a single physical store in Hong Kong following the move.
