Palestinian death toll in Gaza climbs to 35,903 as Israeli attacks persist


25th May 2024 – (Gaza) The ongoing Israeli military assaults on the Gaza Strip have resulted in a grim rise in the Palestinian death toll, reaching 35,903, according to a press statement released by health authorities in the Palestinian enclave on Saturday.

Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli army’s actions claimed the lives of 46 Palestinians and left 130 others injured. These recent casualties contribute to a total death toll of 35,903 and a staggering count of 80,420 injuries since the outbreak of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in October 2023.

The press statement highlighted the dire situation on the ground, with victims still trapped under rubble due to the relentless bombardment and a lack of rescue teams able to reach them promptly.

The Israeli offensive against Hamas in the Gaza Strip was launched in response to a violent incursion by Hamas militants across the southern Israeli border on 7th October , 2023. The incursion resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people, while around 250 individuals were taken hostage during the chaos.
