Pakistani removee passes away following emergency landing at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport

26th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) A repatriation operation conducted by the Immigration Department (ImmD) took a tragic turn when a Pakistani removee suddenly became unconscious during the flight from Hong Kong to Pakistan. Despite immediate medical attention, the individual was later pronounced dead after the flight made an emergency landing at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport.

The ImmD had deployed staff members to oversee the repatriation process, ensuring the safe return of the Pakistani removee to his home country. However, during the course of the journey, the removee’s health rapidly deteriorated, resulting in him losing consciousness. Swift action was taken as flight crew members were promptly alerted to the situation.

In response to the medical emergency, the flight was diverted to Wuhan Tianhe International Airport to seek urgent medical assistance for the removee. Upon arrival, he was immediately transferred to a local hospital for further treatment. Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, the removee was pronounced dead.

Authorities have confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the removee’s death, according to the information provided by the relevant authority. The ImmD has promptly reported the incident to the appropriate parties to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted.
