2nd October 2022 – (Hong Kong) According to the information from the Hong Kong Space Museum, the Orionid meteor shower will appear from today (2nd October) and the active period will last until the 7th of next month, but the peak period will be on the 21st of this month. It is recommended to observe from 9pm onwards if the local observation conditions are good, the zenith rate will be 20 per hour, and if the weather permits, 20 meteors may be seen per hour.
Citizens can go to the suburbs and other places far away from light pollution or watch the meteor shower in places with a wide field of view, such as Tai Mei Tuk, Tai Hang Tun Kite Flying Area, the Astropark at High Island Reservoir, outlying islands, etc.
