Oriental Daily plans to charter flight to evacuate elderly and pregnant Hongkongers from Hubei province


23rd February 2020 – (Hong Kong) Oriental Daily group contacted Donghai Airlines in Shenzhen to charter a plane to Hubei to evacuate Hong Kong residents stranded in the province. Oriental Daily group announced yesterday that they will arrange for a chartered flight to fly to Hubei to evacuate stranded elderly and pregnant Hongkongers. They claimed that the Hong Kong government has not made any plans to charter flight to Hubei and the Foreign Affairs Office in Wuhan responded to Oriental Dailly today that no flight arrangement has been made.

Shenzhen Donghai Airlines is the only business jet company in the country with an air base of 150,000 square meters. The company has three business jets that provide charter services. The challenger CL-605 can carry eleven passengers and two crew members. The maximum range is 7,408 kilometers, and the maximum cruise speed is 870 km/h. The Challenger CL-300 can carry eight to nine passengers, two crew members, a maximum range of 5,676 kilometers, and a maximum cruise speed of 870 kilometers per hour.

Established in February 2010, Donghai Business Jet Co., Ltd. is headquartered in Shenzhen and has a branch in Beijing. It is currently the only business jet company in the country with a business jet service base of 150,000 square meters. The company has one Bombardier Challenger CL-605 and two Challenger CL-300. It has integrated service bases at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, including independent customs, border, and quarantine supporting channels. The first Challenger CL-605 aircraft arrived at Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport on 13th November, 2010. It obtained an operation certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration on 1st December of the same year.
