Only 7 imported COVID-19 cases recorded in HK today


4th April 2021 – (Hong Kong)    The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health (DH) announced that as of 12am today, the CHP was investigating seven additional COVID-19 confirmed cases, taking the number of cases to 11,509 in Hong Kong so far (comprising 11,508 confirmed cases and one probable case).

Among the newly reported cases announced, all are imported cases including 5 arrivals from India, one from Indonesia and one from the Philippines. All of the patients are asymptomatic.

 A total of 130 cases have been recorded in the past 14 days (21st March to 3rd April 3), including 39 local cases of which 11 are from unknown sources.

 As at 9am today, six COVID-19 confirmed patients were discharged from hospital in the last 24 hours. So far, a total of 11,139 patients with confirmed or probable infection have been discharged.

 At present, there are 651 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1,197 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 127 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in 21 public hospitals and the North Lantau Hospital Hong Kong Infection Control Centre, among which nine patients are in critical condition, three are in serious condition and the remaining 115 patients are in stable condition.
