One victim shows improvement while 3 remain in critical condition after fatal fire at New Lucky House on Jordan Road

16th April 2024 – (Hong Kong) A No.3 alarm fire erupted at New Lucky House on Jordan Road last Wednesday, resulting in a devastating toll. According to the latest figures from the Hospital Authority, the fire has claimed the lives of five individuals and left 40 injured. While one male patient currently admitted to Elizabeth Hospital is showing signs of improvement, his condition remains serious. Regrettably, three female victims remain in critical condition.

Among the deceased, three men and one woman were pronounced dead at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, while another woman was confirmed deceased at Kwong Wah Hospital. The victims have been identified as a 67-year-old man surnamed Lai, a 70-year-old man surnamed Tsang, both Hong Kong identity card holders, and two Indonesian individuals aged 23 and 24. The fifth victim, a 56-year-old woman, is believed to be of Filipino nationality, pending further investigation.
