Spokesperson for the Office of the Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in Hong Kong strongly condemned the meeting between the parties and demanded United States Consulate General to inform their government to stop making wrongful representations and to avoid taking the matters further in the wrong path.

The spokesperson further stated that the United States is well aware of Jimmy Lai’s political stance and his role in the Hong Kong society. The meeting between the senior government from United States and Jimmy Lai during this sensitive time implicates malicious intent and it may send wrong signals to the world.

The spokesperson further emphasised that the United States ignored the basic principles of international law by interfering with the internal affairs of China and its legal policies.

The spokesperson also indicated that certain individuals in Hong Kong disregarded their national dignity and the interests of Hong Kong. They are willing to act as a political tool for foreign powers to create chaos in the city. They are despised by all the Chinese people for their despicable acts in luring enemies into our territory. These national scums and Hong Kong sinners will always be nailed to the pillar of shame in our history.
