North Lantau Hospital launches investigation into suspected inappropriate physical examination


23rd February 2024 – (Hong Kong) North Lantau Hospital (NLTH) has recently received a complaint regarding a suspected case of inappropriate physical examination by a healthcare staff member. The complaint was filed by a female patient on 15th February, alleging misconduct during a consultation.

Taking the matter seriously, NLTH wasted no time in launching an immediate investigation into the incident. In addition, the hospital has reported the complaint to the Police and is fully committed to cooperating with them throughout their investigation.

NLTH has maintained close communication with the patient since the complaint was made and will continue to provide necessary support and assistance. To ensure the safety and well-being of patients, the staff member involved in the incident has been reassigned from clinical duties that involve direct patient care. Furthermore, NLTH has promptly reported the incident to the Head Office of the Hospital Authority (HA), the governing body overseeing healthcare institutions in Hong Kong.
