15th May 2024 – (Seoul) Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has emphasized the critical importance of adhering strictly to the military production schedules as part of the nation’s war preparations, according to reports from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) released on Wednesday.

During recent visits to key weapons and military equipment manufacturing facilities, Kim Jong Un, who serves as the general secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, inspected new tactical missile systems set to be deployed across missile units. These inspections took place over the past few days, culminating in a detailed review on Tuesday.

The North Korean leader used these occasions to underline the necessity of executing the 2024 munitions production plans flawlessly, aiming to achieve what he described as an “epochal change” in the country’s military readiness.

This past weekend, Kim’s tour included leading enterprises involved in the development of advanced precision munitions and major small arms. He particularly noted the progress in the production of updated 240 mm multiple rocket launchers. During these visits, he urged the nation’s top defence industrial enterprises to meet their production targets in a qualitative manner and without any compromises.
