No new COVID-19 cases reported in Hong Kong again, 6 consecutive days with no new local infection


20th May 2020 – (Hong Kong) No new cases of COVID-19 infection reported today. The Centre for Health Protection has cancelled the 4.30pm media briefing later. It has been 6 consecutive days since there were no local cases and 3 consecutive days with no new cases in Hong Kong.

Total tally maintains at 1,056. Anti-gathering ban will be extended for another 2 weeks and the suspension of nightclubs, karaoke, public bathhouses and Party Room businesses will continue for another 7 days from tomorrow onwards.

 As at noon today, one COVID-19 confirmed patient (case number: 1,040) was discharged from hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 1,026 confirmed and suspected patients have been discharged.

 At present, there are 659 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1,219 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 26 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in nine hospitals, among which one patient is in critical condition (case number: 595), one patient is in serious condition (case number: 1 049), and the remaining 24 patients are in stable condition.
