No new COVID-19 cases recorded in Hong Kong today, total tally maintains at 1,056 (Updated: 4.38pm)


18th May 2020 – (Hong Kong) Sources revealed that there are no new COVID-19 cases today. Total tally maintains at 1,056. There will not be any media conference held by the Centre for Health Protection at 4.30pm later.

Since the three cases involving a 66-year-old female patient and her husband living in Block 5 of Lei Muk Shue Estate and her 5-year-old granddaughter living in Cheuk Ming Building in Tsuen Wan on 14th May, there has been no local cases for 4 days already.

As at noon today, one COVID-19 confirmed patient (case number: 1053) was discharged from hospital in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 1,025 confirmed and suspected patients have been discharged.

At present, there are 659 negative pressure rooms in public hospitals with 1,219 negative pressure beds activated. A total of 27 confirmed patients are currently hospitalised in nine hospitals, among which one patient is in critical condition (case number: 595), three patients are in serious condition (case numbers: 338, 461 and 713), and the remaining 23 patients are in stable condition.
