New preliminary COVID-19 case who attended Hins Cheung’s concert causes panic in entertainment industry, around 20 artistes attended on same day


    8th January 2022 – (Hong Kong) Among the preliminary cases reported today, the female employer and 13-year-old child of Case No.12854, Indonesian Foreign Domestic Helper who live together at Mei Sun Building, 4-20 Kau Hui Chik Street, Tai Po have tested preliminarily positive. The employer works at a real estate company at Kingsford Terrace and she also attended Hins Cheung’s concert “The Next 20 Hins Live in Hong Kong” at Coliseum in Hung Hom with her husband on 3rd January and sat at Row 46-20. Dr.Chuang pointed out that the risk of transmission at the concert was difficult to assess, and called on those who attended on the same day to be tested.

    Emperor Entertainment which represents Hins Cheung also stated that it has arranged for those who participated in the performance on that night to conduct virus testing as soon as possible. The concert was the 10th show held since the beginning. Other local artistes who appeared include local group C ALLStar, Nancy Wu, Elaine Yiu etc and around 20 others in the entertainment industry also attended the show on the same day.

    In order to take into account the health and safety of all audiences, Cantopop singer Hins Cheung announced earlier the postponement of the eight subsequent concerts at the Coliseum in Hung Hom from 6th to 10th January and from 13th to 15th January.

    There were also confirmed COVID-19 cases in Hins Cheung’s concert held from 22nd to 29th November, 2020. At that time, there were a total of 6 confirmed cases, including 5 spectators and 1 employee.
