28th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) At precisely 12.42am today, law enforcement officers on patrol in Sham Shui Po noticed a man exhibiting signs of distress on the rooftop of a building located at 232-234 Tai Po Road. Concerned that he may attempt self-harm, they immediately called for backup.
Upon receiving the report, the fire department swiftly arrived at the scene, deploying safety air cushions as a precautionary measure. Additionally, a negotiation expert was summoned to the location to engage with the troubled individual. Throughout the interaction, the man displayed heightened emotions.
After several hours of intense dialogue and persuasion, the subject was successfully convinced to retreat to a safe position by around 2am. Subsequently, he expressed a need for medical attention due to his state of discomfort. It has been revealed that the man resides at the same address with his wife, and the rooftop incident stemmed from a previous argument related to their relationship, which had escalated his anger and compelled him to climb onto the rooftop, surpassing the protective barriers.
