Nearly HK$5 million worth of jewellery and cash stolen from house in Tuen Mun

26th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) At 10.16pm yesterday, a 46-year-old woman surnamed Lam reported a burglary at her detached house on Tsing Ying Road in Tuen Mun. According to her account, she discovered a suspiciously forced-open window and signs of ransacking inside the premises, indicating a possible break-in.

Upon a preliminary assessment by the homeowner, it was determined that a substantial amount of valuables had been stolen. The estimated loss includes approximately HK$4.9 million worth of jewellery, around RMB 20,000 in cash, and approximately HK$60,000 in local currency. The case has been classified as a “burglary,” although no arrests have been made thus far.
