15th September 2023 – (Hong Kong) Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden (KFBG)’s annual fundraising event returns on 2nd to 3rd December, offering participants a chance to reconnect with nature while enjoying a range of fun activities, including a charity walk, a treasure hunt, and a Nature Bazaar.

The highly anticipated “Nature Hikeathon & Treasure Hunt @KFBG” is set to take place on 2nd and 3rd December, 2023. This exciting event provides individuals and families with an opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of KFBG while supporting nature conservation efforts.

On 2nd December, participants can choose between two distinct routes for the charity walk. The leisure route spans 4 kilometres, offering a relaxed and scenic experience. For those seeking a more challenging adventure, the classic route covers 8 kilometres and promises breathtaking views of Tai Mo Shan’s diverse flora and fauna. Along both routes, participants will encounter various checkpoints where they can engage in nature-related tasks and collect stamps. These stamps can later be exchanged for a refreshing beverage at the farm’s kiosk, serving as a well-deserved treat after the walk.

The following day, 3rd December, KFBG transforms into a thrilling playground for the treasure hunt. Participants can register individually or as teams, embarking on an exhilarating time-limited adventure. The treasure hunt features 25 interactive checkpoints strategically scattered across the mid and lower farm areas. Participants must navigate their way through the picturesque landscape, solving clues and completing challenges to discover hidden treasures.

In addition to the charity walk and treasure hunt, visitors can explore the Nature Bazaar, a limited-time marketplace offering a wide array of engaging activities, agricultural products, and environmentally friendly items. This is an ideal opportunity to support local artisans and learn about sustainable living practices.

Furthermore, KFBG has prepared a series of guided tours and exciting activities to enhance the overall experience. Animal encounters allow participants to get up close and personal with the farm’s resident creatures, while tree-climbing activities provide a unique perspective on the surrounding nature. Additionally, a workshop offers the chance to witness the transformation of reclaimed wood from fallen trees into beautiful crafts, highlighting the farm’s commitment to conservation and creativity.

The event will take place at the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, located on Lam Kam Road in Tai Po, Hong Kong. Participants are encouraged to visit the event’s official website, www.kfbgevent.com, for further information and registration details.
