3rd December 2020 – (Hong Kong) The Langham, Hong Kong unveiled its grand 9-feet tall fir tree trimmed with oversized candy canes and bonbons this morning. The entire hotel has turned into a Christmas Candyland to welcome its guests. Due to the pandemic, many of us can’t travel overseas to celebrate our Christmas holidays and if you do not have a luxurious space at home to set up a Christmas tree, we suggest you check into Langham as it is probably the only hotel in Hong Kong that boasts a faux fireplace in the room where you can challenge your decoration skills to adorn the mantel and design your own Christmas tree during your staycation.
Langham was kind enough to offer our team a one night stay in its 36sqm Executive Room (HK$2,088) per night including Club Access. There is a massive chaise lounge sofa that sits by the floor-to-ceiling window with city views and natural daylight. Buffet Breakfast for two is included.
However, the good news is you can check into their Superior Courtyard View Room for only HK$1,188 per night and you can still decorate your room with the Christmas Candyland props prepared by the hotel.
The all-white room boasts a well-stocked minibar and all the non-alcoholic drinks are available for free with one replenishment. There is an alarm clock on your bedside which comes with wireless charging port and cables to charge either your iPhone or Android Phone. You can also watch your favourite Netflix series by mirroring with the TV in the room. There is also a Nespresso machine for you to make your coffee in the morning.
The bed is lush and feels heavenly with four extra-large pillows. You will find an extra pillow in the wardrobe for you to engage in a pillow fight with your partner. The bathtub is big enough to fit two for an evening of champagne and movie on your iPad.
If you have checked into a room with Club Access, you can have access to a wealth of free offers within a sanctuary of supreme comfort and convenience at the Langham Club on 11th Floor from 11.00am to 11.00pm daily.
You can enjoy Continental and hot breakfast (enjoy at The Food Gallery), afternoon tea selections, evening cocktails and canapés, fine wines and premium beverages throughout the day, garment pressing, Wi-Fi and daily international newspaper/magazines.
For dinner, we made our way to Main St Deli located at the lower ground floor and we were offered a special Media Tasting Menu for two and we ordered Baja Fish Tacos, Bronx Mushroom Tortellini, Triple Reubens and the Signature New York Cheese Cake. We also ordered two drinks i.e. Monster Chocolate Milkshake and the ‘Hong Kong Bastard’ draft beer. The buffet breakfast is served till 10.30am and the selection is sumptuous including the All American Breakfast, noodles and assorted pastries.
The portions were generous. Baja Fish Tacos which contained spiced sole fillet were savoury and the Triple Reuben’s Pastrami made us feel as if we were taking part in a U.S. sandwich eating contest. The portion was so big that we couldn’t even continue with the Bronx Mushroom Tortellini.. However, we did not want to miss the Signature New York Cheesecake which was soft and not too sweet. Overall, it was a joyful experience at the Main St Diner.
Meanwhile, all restaurants will offer menus featuring a myriad of sweet and savoury festive feasts such as Roasted Tom Turkey, festive log cakes and more during this festive season.
