20th July 2026 – (Hong Kong) MTR Corporation announced today a renewed partnership with creative brand AllRightsReserved to introduce the “Next Station: CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE” campaign, designed to coincide with the forthcoming CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE exhibition and to capitalise on Hong Kong’s growing intellectual property economy. The summer initiative will transform parts of the rail network into an immersive experience inspired by the popular characters, offering passengers a distinctive artistic journey across multiple lines.

The first highlight will be a fantasy-themed Light Rail train making its inaugural run on Saturday, 25th July. Building on the popularity of last year’s collaboration, the revamped train features newly designed elements, including handrails shaped as the faces of Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi, allowing passengers to quite literally hold on to their favourite characters. Glow-in-the-dark star motifs on the exterior further enhance the magical theme, inviting riders into illustrator Nagano’s imaginative world.

The special Light Rail service will operate on weekends from 25th July to 30th August, running four trips daily from Siu Hong to either Tuen Mun or Yuen Long, following previous Light Rail Voyager routes. On Saturdays and Sundays during the campaign period, passengers may purchase a HK$88 “Light Rail Travel Pass” package at Siu Hong Stop. The package includes one ride on the themed train, unlimited travel on other Light Rail services for the same day, an exclusive CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE envelope, a randomly selected pouch presented in blind-box format, and a HK$50 coupon for use at physical MTR e-Store outlets. Availability will be limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis according to each train’s capacity.

The collaboration also extends beyond the Light Rail network. Following the unveiling of themed decorations at Admiralty and Lok Ma Chau stations on 17th July as a prelude to the campaign, additional installations incorporating MTR’s signature mosaic tiles will appear at selected stations in the coming weeks. Further activities, including character appearances and themed merchandise, are scheduled from late July through August.

To encourage participation, MTR Mobile members who complete ten eligible domestic heavy rail journeys costing HK$10 or more by 30th July, using a linked Octopus card, will receive 100 MTR Points and qualify for a lucky draw. Participants will have the opportunity to win one of 300 adult general admission tickets to the CHIIKAWA ARTIVERSE exhibition, each valued at HK$200.
