8th August 2022 – (Moscow) The Moscow Exchange has permitted non-resident clients from “friendly” countries to trade on its derivatives market starting Monday.

According to a statement by Moscow Exchange on Friday, the non-resident clients should be from non-hostile countries as well as those whose ultimate beneficiaries are Russian legal entities or individuals.

The change came after Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on Friday to provide non-resident clients with access to the stock market.

The decree bans “unfriendly” investors from making transactions with their shares in strategic Russian enterprises and projects until the end of the year.
