More than 80,000 people in Macao tested, no new COVID-19 cases detected

18th October 2021 – (Macao) The Macao government has announced a few days that around 50,000 residents living in Red and Yellow zones would need to undergo an additional NAT to ensure there are no COVID-19 cases in the city.

Macau launched the the nucleic acid testing programme for key areas, with an aim to create better conditions for resuming normal order of social production and life.” last night (17th). More than 80,000 people were sampled. It was confirmed today (18th) that no new COVID-19 cases were found. The Macao Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre  said this morning that as of the end of the program at midnight, 56130 people had been sampled and 24,322 people living in Red and Yellow zones had been sampled. In total, 80,452 people had been sampled. The results were all negative.
