15th July 2025 – (Hong Kong) Local artist Jacky Heung is facing legal action from MGM China Holdings after allegedly failing to fully repay a loan of HK$2 million taken from a Macao casino last December. He currently owes HK$1.4 million, prompting MGM to file a claim in the Hong Kong District Court for the outstanding amount plus interest.

MGM China Holdings operates the casino where Heung was a customer. The defendant, Heung, is the son of Charles Heung, a prominent figure in the Hong Kong entertainment industry known for his work as an actor, film producer, and presenter.

According to the court documents, Heung borrowed HK$2 million on 1st December, 2024, exchanging it for gaming chips, with a stipulation to repay the full amount on the same day. However, after accounting for partial repayments, MGM claims Heung still owes HK$1.4 million. The plaintiff asserts that, under the loan agreement, they are entitled to collect interest at an annual rate of 18%, calculated from the date of borrowing until full repayment. MGM is now seeking the recovery of the outstanding debt along with the accrued interest.
