12th June 2026 – (Hong Kong) Mercedes‑Benz has opened orders in Hong Kong for the GLC 250 Electric, the marque’s first 800V battery‑electric SUV, with an indicative price from HK$799,000 and local deliveries slated for later this year. Built in Bremen, Germany, the model is said to have drawn more global pre‑orders than any previous Mercedes‑Benz EV as production ramps to meet demand.
The GLC 250 Electric runs an 800V architecture supporting up to 320kW DC rapid charging, taking the battery from 10% to 80% in a claimed 22 minutes. An 85kWh lithium‑ion pack underpins a WLTP range of up to 650km, with stated efficiency of 15.0–18.1kWh/100km. A rear‑axle permanent‑magnet motor produces 354PS and 505Nm, sending the SUV from 0–100km/h in 5.9 seconds.
Luxury and tech are central to the specification. Standard equipment includes AMG Line exterior styling and wheels, a Burmester 3D surround‑sound system and heated comfort seats. Buyers can opt for the sweeping 39.1‑inch MBUX Hyperscreen running the in‑house MB.OS, integrating infotainment, comfort settings, charging management and driver assistance. Exterior detailing features a redesigned illuminated grille with animated light signatures.
Practicality is equally considered: there’s a 128‑litre front compartment and a versatile rear load area offering 570–1,740 litres (VDA). Options extend to AIRMATIC air suspension and 4.5‑degree rear‑axle steering, trimming the turning circle to 12.1 metres for easier urban manoeuvres. Assistance systems packaged under MB.DRIVE include DISTRONIC active distance assist, parking assist and a 360‑degree camera as standard.
