Media reporters will march from Harcourt Road to Chief Executive’s Office on 14th July as protest against police brutality

11th July 2019 – (Hong Kong) The anti-extradition street demonstrations have triggered many clashes between police and protestors in recent weeks. Police officers allegedly reprimanded, drove away and even assaulted reporters on multiple occasions. A total of 30 complaints were received by Hong Kong Journalists Association.

On 14th July, media reporters, teachers and students studyingJournalism and Communication will wear safety vests to march from Harcourt Road via Wan Chai Police Headquarters to Chief Executive’s Office to protest against police brutality and to uphold press freedom.

The march is organised jointly by Hong Kong Journalists Association, Hong Kong Press Photographers Association and several other organisations including Next Media and Ming Pao.
