Maxim’s Catering Group suspends hiring of casual workers at their food factory in Tai Po


14th January 2020 – (Hong Kong) Maxim’s Catering Group was rumoured to stop using casual workers at Maxim’s Food Factory
in Tai Po Industrial Estate since 11th this month. The management also issued a notice to all full-time staff that they would receive HK$2,000 each while part-timers would receive HK$1,000 each. At least 20,000 staff will benefit from this bonus payout.

Spokesperson for Eating Establishment Employees General Union said that the operation of Maxim’s Catering Group has been severely affected since the protest started and he said that the total number of employees at Maxim’s Catering Group still remained the same.
