Matthew Elliot Orr Wing Kai dubbed the ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ of Hong Kong Football team

19th June 2022 – (Hong Kong) Matthew Elliot Orr Wing Kai  who was born in 1997 is a Hong Kong professional footballer of partial New Zealand descent who currently plays for Hong Kong Premier League club Kitchee. The Hong Kong football team played in the Asian Cup qualifiers in India earlier and successfully reached the final week after a 54-year hiatus. The 25-year-old striker Orr is not only an outstanding performer on the field but he also attracts the attention of netizens with his good looks and height (190cm). He is also known as the ‘Cristiano Ronaldo’ of Hong Kong football team.

Orr was born and raised in Hong Kong by a New Zealand father (Andrew Orr) and a New Zealand mother (Janice Chin). He was a graduate of Canadian International School. He also holds New Zealand passport.

He attended Canadian International School in middle school and began to represent Hong Kong in many competitions at the age of 12. At the age of 18, he went to the United States to further his studies and entered the He played in the American College League when he was at the University of San Francisco.

On 3rd July 2019, Kitchee announced an agreement for Orr to join in the second-half of the season.  On 27th December 2019, Orr returned to Hong Kong, signing a contract with his boyhood club Kitchee.

He made his professional debut on 11th February 2020 in a Sapling Cup match against Rangers. Matthew scored his first Hong Kong Premier League goal in a 2–2 draw against Lee Man on 22nd November 2020.
