Maserati car irreparable after being involved in accident on Repulse Bay Road

9th December 2022 – (Hong Kong) A two-vehicle collision accident occurred in Repulse Bay. At about 9pm in the evening, a Maserati sports car was driving along Repulse Bay Road. It slowed down in front of a temporary road construction site near Wong Nai Chung Gap Road, and a Toyota private car following behind failed to stop in time and crashed into the Maserati car.

After the accident, the rear of the Maserati sports car was damaged, and the front of the private Toyota vehicle was also severely damaged. The male drivers of the two vehicles reported minor injuries and were sent to the hospital for treatment. The police were on the scene to investigate the cause of the accident. The Maserati car owner later rushed to the scene to inspect the damage. He reported that he bought the car for HK$2.3 million in 2010 and had used it for about 12 years. Since the car is a cabriolet the rear open-top components are severely damaged, and it is estimated that there is a high chance that it will not be sold. Nevertheless, most similar second-hand Maserati cars in the market can fetch less than HK$200,000 and some were offered for less than HK$150,000 if the car is more than 10 years old.

He lent the car to the friend and did not expect an accident to occur.
