2nd February 2023 – (Hong Kong) At around 2.34am today, a 40-year-old married man was found by a friend lying unconscious in a white private car at an open area in Pat Heung. The paramedics arrived at the scene after receiving the report. After inspection, the victim was certified dead and a pot filled with burned charcoal was found in the vehicle. Officers seized a suicide note at the scene, and believed that the victim committed suicide by burning charcoal in the car.
According to latest sources, the male deceased surnamed Lee had a cohabiting girlfriend after separating from his wife but the two have not divorced legally. He fell in love with another woman earlier without telling his girlfriend, and even rented a village house to live with the woman at Tai Kei Leng Village in Pat Heung who committed suicide in the residence a few months ago.
The deceased was reported to be working on a construction site. He and his wife had been married for 12 years and have one son, but their relationship broke down and they have been separated for 8 years. At 11am on 29th January., the victim left his residence on Wang Tat Road, Yuen Long and his friend and girlfriend both failed to contact him. His friend actually knew that about the deceased woman, and also knew that the victim was depressed after her suicide. He then took the victim’s estranged wife to Pat Heung and found him dead in the car opposite the village home he used to live with the woman who committed suicide earlier.
