Man kidnapped in Yau Ma Tei and rescued after vehicle intercepted, 5 local suspects pursued by police (Updated: 10pm)

25th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) In Yau Ma Tei, a district in Hong Kong, a 37-year-old man named Chan was forcefully kidnapped by 4 local men of average built at around 4.18pm today. The incident took place on Pilkem Street when Chan was held up by the group and taken hostage in a white private car. Chan immediately called out for help, and passersby quickly came to his rescue.

Upon receiving the report, the police immediately rushed to the scene and launched a manhunt in the area. A few moments later, the white private car was found on Austin Road but the four culprits had already fled. Unfortunately, Chan was left behind in the vehicle, with injuries to his head and hands. The police quickly attended to him and took him to the hospital for medical attention.

The police interviewed witnesses and analysed CCTV footage to identify the suspects. The police also checked the car for any clues that could lead to the culprits’ whereabouts.
