Man allegedly robbed of HK$3m in cash while buying bitcoins in Chai Wan (Updated)


4th January 2021 – (Hong Kong) At 8pm today, a man brought a huge sum of money to meet two South Asians to deliver the bitcoins. It is reported that when he was counting the cash in his private car to prepare for the settlement at Hing Man Estate at No. 188 Tai Tam Road, Chai Wan. Four other South Asian men jumped out from another vehicle and robbed him of the cash. They told him that, ‘Money is gone, get off my car.’

After robbing the huge sum of money, he was pushed off the car. The victim was not injured. With the assistance of a passer-by, he called the police for help, claiming that he was robbed of HK$3 million in cash and mobile phone.

After receiving the report, the police rushed to the scene and traced the thief in the vicinity based on the information on the thief and the thief provided by the victim.
