Man, 75, arrested for manslaughter following a physical altercation with 74-year-old resident at an elderly home in Tai Kok Tsui, resulting in the victim’s demise

19th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) Police in Mong Kok are investigating a case of manslaughter that occurred on 17th March, resulting in the death of a 74-year-old man. The incident was reported to the police at 9.22pm on the same day by a staff member of an elderly care home at FUK WING HOME OF AGED LIMITED, 99 Ivy Street, Tai Kok Tsui. The report indicated that the victim was engaged in a physical altercation with a 75-year-old man, during which he fell to the ground.

Upon receipt of the report, the police swiftly dispatched officers to the scene. Despite sustaining no apparent injuries, the victim was transferred to Kwong Wah Hospital, where he remained conscious until his untimely demise on 18th March at 10.06 am.

The Mong Kok District Crime Squad has taken charge of the investigation and arrested the 75-year-old suspect for manslaughter. The accused is currently in custody, pending further enquiries.

In a bid to ascertain the precise cause of death, post-mortem examinations will be conducted in due course. Meanwhile, the District Crime Squad of Mong Kok District is continuing with its active investigation into this tragic incident.
