15th March 2023 – (Hong Kong) At 11.16am this morning (15th), a man who was cycling on Tai Mo Shan suddenly fell unconscious, presumably due to illness, and fell off his mountain bike. Upon seeing this, his companions immediately called for help and administered first aid. The fire department was then alerted to conduct a search and rescue operation in the mountains. The unconscious victim was located near the junction of Kap Lung Ancient Trail and Route Twisk.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation was immediately performed on him. The victim was then airlifted by the government’s flying service to the hospital for further medical attention. Unfortunately, it was later confirmed that he had passed away. His companion at the scene provided an account of the incident to the authorities.
