30th November 2022 – (Shanghai) A Mainland woman named Xin Tong in 20s had her right eye removed after a car accident in 2013 and she is regarded as a disabled person. After years of hard work, she finally realised her dream of becoming an ocularist to help disabled people who are in the same situation as her regain their confidence.
Xin Tong had her right eye removed in a car accident in 2013. Since then, she has been wearing a prosthetic eye. After meeting many people in the same situation as herself, she decided to become an ocularist to help disabled people in the same situation regain their confidence. She said that what she is doing is a very meaningful job. Although she has experienced difficulties during the learning process, she never thought of giving up, and she persisted in the end.
She also took pictures and video to show that the prosthetic eye she wears is basically the same as a normal human eye, and even emits different colours of light. Many netizens were amazed by her skills and confidence.
