25th September 2020 – (Hong Kong) The arrested suspect from Fan Ling who was arrested for violation of National Security Law in addition to the charges of possession and trading of offensive weapons yesterday has been identified as a 23-year-old man surnamed Lui.
In addition to selling weapons on social platforms, was also revealed to be involved in distributing a large amount of information promoting Hong Kong independence and spreading hatred on social media. It is understood that Lui is a first-year student in the Department of Civil Engineering at PolyU and an active member of the Hong Kong Independence Facebook page, Instagram and Telegram groups. Lui was a member of the Student Union when he studied at Tak Sun Secondary School in Ma On Shan.
He is a member of the Hong Kong Air Cadet Corps and likes to play War Game. His Facebook account has many photos of him participating in the War game. In 2016, he used to run the clothing and accessories business online, and set up a special page on social networks to sell ties and various fashion accessories, and uploaded many photos of himself as a student model.
Police pointed out that part of the propaganda content was full of pictures and texts including a confession by the arrested person that he used a gas-emitting object to be thrown into the police defence line in an illegal demonstration in Kowloon on 6th September this year and he threatened to use more weapons against police officers.
