7th November 2019 – (Hong Kong) At around 4pm today, a man named Yang drove his 7-seater vehicle along Hong Lok Yuen Road toward Hong Lok Yuen in Tai po. A black vehicle suddenly rammed into the back of his vehicle resulting in both cars to stop at the roadside. Two armed men clad in black with masks got off the vehicle and stormed towards the 7-seater vehicle. A 55-year-old female passenger was slashed repetitively. The assailants then fled the scene. Paramedics rushed to the scene and attended to her wounds. She was then sent to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital for treatment.
Police cordoned off the area and questioned the driver, Yang. The case is being followed up by Tai Po District police and they are trying to establish the motive of the attack. Maggie Au Tsui-Yee, the female victim is the wife of Roy Cho Kwai-chee, the ex-director of Convoy Global Holdings Limited. Roy who was the alleged mastermind in Hong Kong’s largest financial scandal in decades, has been charged with conspiracy to defraud Convoy Global Holdings by Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC).
