16th February 2026 – (Macao) Macao’s law enforcement authorities detained 11 individuals during operations conducted last month in the Iao Hon and Zona Nova districts. The group comprised 10 women and one individual dressed as a woman, all aged between their twenties and forties.
Investigations revealed that 10 of those detained admitted to engaging in commercial sexual activities in Macao for financial gain. All 11 individuals are being processed by relevant authorities for allegedly engaging in activities incompatible with their visitor status.
During the operations, enforcement officers also identified a residential unit suspected of being used for illegal accommodation. Following investigation, the premises were confirmed to be operating unlawfully and were immediately sealed by the authorities.
