23rd February 2026 – (Hong Kong) M+, Asia’s global museum of contemporary visual culture located in Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, will mark Art March by opening its doors to the public free of charge on Sunday, 8th March 2026.
The museum will operate from 10am to 8pm on the day, offering complimentary access to its principal exhibitions and a range of public programmes. The initiative is intended to encourage wider community engagement with contemporary visual culture and to invite visitors to explore the museum’s collections and spaces without charge.
Free admission will apply to exhibitions including M+ Sigg Collection: Inner Worlds; Things, Spaces, Interactions; Making It Matters; Shanshui: Echoes and Signals; Robert Rauschenberg and Asia; and Chiharu Shiota: Infinite Memory, all located on Level 2. Visitors will also be able to attend Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time at The Studio on B2, Danh Vo In Situ: Akari by Noguchi at Found Space on B2, and access the Mediatheque on the Lower Ground floor, which remains free year-round. Complimentary screenings will take place at the Mediatheque and on the Grand Stair throughout the day.
The special exhibition Zao Wou-Ki: Master Printmaker, staged in the Main Hall Gallery, will not be included in the free-entry arrangement. In addition, the Main Hall Gallery will not be accessible to general visitors without tickets during the event.
Members of the public wishing to enjoy the free exhibitions must enter via the Artist Square Entrance, as some other entry and exit points will be closed. The museum said visitor numbers may be regulated according to on-site conditions, and queuing arrangements will be implemented if necessary. Entry to the queue will close at 7pm to allow sufficient time for those inside to explore the galleries before closing.
M+ Members, Patrons and their accompanying guests, as well as ticket holders for the Zao Wou-Ki exhibition, will be able to use the Art Park Entrance. Ticket holders will receive priority access to Ryuichi Sakamoto | seeing sound, hearing time, related workshops at the Open Print Studio, and the M+ Lounge on Level 11, which is ordinarily reserved for Members and Patrons.
The museum also highlighted its membership schemes, which provide unlimited exhibition entry and a range of benefits. Annual individual membership is priced at HK$600, with dual membership available at HK$1,000. Concessionary rates are offered to young and senior members, while family membership costs HK$1,200 per year. Patron membership includes unlimited exhibition access with up to three guests per visit, alongside invitations to private events and additional ticket discounts.
