3rd June 2020 – (Hong Kong) Mandarin Oriental Hotel has announced recently that both its two Michelin-starred restaurant, Pierre and Michelin-starred Man Wah will close down this August. The 14-year-old Pierre located on the 25th floor is chef Pierre Gagnaire’s pied-á-terre in Hong Kong which serves French cuisine in a stunning environment. The chef leading the culinary team in Pierre is Jacky Tauvry. On the other hand, guided by Chef Wing-Keung Wong, Man Wah which started in 1968 offers outstanding Cantonese cuisine of traditional favourites alongside seasonal specialties with touches of modern flair.
As the hotel will undergo a 6-month renovation from August, Pierre will be closed down permanently while extension will be carried out at Man Wah to occupy the current M Bar space.
To bid farewell to Pierre, a special Memoires of Pierre Gagnaire 5 to 9-course menu is on offer from 8th June to 30th July ranging from HK$1,688 to HK$2,388 and similarly, at Man Wah, a Signature Celebration menu will be promoted from 15th June to 30th July. Set lunch starts at HK$888 and set dinner costs HK$1,688.
Meanwhile, at M Bar, a daily Lights Out at M Bar event between 15th June and 30th July will be held. At HK$688 per person, you can enjoy a Krug champagne and canapes. There will also be a live DJ performance daily.
