31st July 2019 – (Hong Kong) After Hong Kong Observatory hoisted the T8 storm signal at 1.40pm today, gusts reaching 110 kilometres per hour or above may continue to affect Hong Kong.  The signal is expected to be hoisted till this evening. Current temperature is at 25°C with humidity recorded at 96%.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Signal No.8NE is also in effect in Macau. At 15 L.T.,T.S. “Wipha” (1907) is located about 320 km south of Macao and moves toward the Leizhou peninsula. The local winds will strengthen. The signal No.8NE will remain in effect during the day.

Hong Kong Observatory recently cancelled Amber rainstorm warning at 2.25pm and Thunderstorm warning at 3pm.

Many people left work early this morning at 11am while the bus terminus at Cross Harbour Tunnel Toll Plaza was congested with long queue. In Kowloon Tong Station, commuters were rushing to go home.

Mandarin Airlines cancelled two flights from Hong Kong to Taichung (AE1832) and from Tai Chung to Hong Kong (AE 1831) later.

In Mong Kok, a 10m X 10m giant poster on the exterior wall of Argyle Centre, Nathan Road was dangling precariously during the T3 storm signal in the morning. Firemen rushed to the scene to remove it.
