Local online media staff member slashed in Mong Kok by 2 non-Chinese assailants


25th November 2023 – (Hong Kong) A man was brutally attacked in Mong Kok’s Argyle Street this evening. The incident unfolded at approximately 6.42pm when the police received a report from a male victim, alleging that he had been assaulted by two non-Chinese assailants wielding sharp weapons.The wounded man was discovered lying on the ground at the intersection of Nathan Road and Argyle Street, near C1 Exit of Mong Kok MTR station. Upon receiving the report, rescue personnel arrived at the scene, provided first aid to the victim, and subsequently transported him to Kwong Wah Hospital for medical treatment. The area bore evidence of bloodstains, and a beer can was found nearby.

According to eyewitness accounts, the victim has been identified as a member of the media organisation known as the “Egg Egg Club News Channel.” The news outlet itself took to Facebook, posting an alarming message that read, “Our colleague has been attacked and slashed twice in Mong Kok,” along with accompanying photographs showcasing the extent of his injuries.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and the police are actively investigating the incident. Mong Kok, a bustling district in Hong Kong, has witnessed sporadic episodes of violence in the past, making it crucial for law enforcement authorities to swiftly apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

The injured victim was sent to the hospital.
