Local man attacked with iron hook in Fanling, South Asian assailant flees


26th May 2024 – (Hong Kong) At around 11pm yesterday, a 48-year-old man named Mr. Tam was driving his private car through the North District Temporary Wholesale Market for Agricultural Products on On Kui Street in Fanling. It was during this journey that an altercation erupted with a man of South Asian descent, believed to be over a driving issue. Shockingly, the other party resorted to attacking Mr. Tam with an iron hook, causing injury to his eyebrow. The assailant managed to escape before Mr. Tam could evade the assault.

Police responded to the incident after receiving the report. Upon arrival, they found Mr. Tam conscious and provided immediate medical attention to treat his injuries. He was subsequently transported to North District Hospital for further care via an ambulance. Authorities promptly initiated an investigation, cordoning off the scene. The case has been classified as an “assault causing actual bodily harm,” and efforts are underway to apprehend the South Asian suspect involved.
