15th April 2024 – (Liverpool) Following a disappointing 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace at home, Liverpool’s defender Andy Robertson has emphasised the urgency for flawless performances in the remaining season to keep their Premier League title aspirations viable. The defeat on Sunday, marked by a solo goal from Eberechi Eze in the 14th minute, has left Liverpool in a precarious position, tied on points with Arsenal and trailing leaders Manchester City by two points.

The setback comes on the heels of a 2-2 draw against Manchester United and a significant 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-finals. With the pressure mounting and only six league games remaining, Robertson stressed the necessity for Liverpool to avoid any further points loss.

“We need to be perfect from here on in,” Robertson declared to the press. He underscored the importance of resilience and a positive mindset, stating, “We can’t drop any more points and let’s see what the other two teams (Manchester City and Arsenal) do. We have to stay positive. We don’t stop fighting.”

The Scotsman also highlighted the need for team solidarity to overcome the current morale challenges. Liverpool’s immediate focus will shift to the crucial Europa League rematch with Atalanta on Thursday, followed by their continued pursuit of league points against Fulham.
