Lexus driver jumps off Tin Kau Bridge, rescued by divers in critical condition

20th April 2024 – (Hong Kong)  At around 5pm today, authorities received a report from a passing motorist who witnessed a middle-aged man parking a Lexus private car on the shoulder of Tin Kau Bridge, heading towards Kowloon, before leaping off the bridge. The marine police and fire department swiftly responded to the scene, where divers plunged into the water to rescue the man. However, upon retrieval, it was evident that he had fallen into a state of unconsciousness. The rescue team immediately provided urgent medical assistance on board their vessel before transferring him to Tsuen Wan West Ferry Pier. Subsequently, an ambulance rushed him to Yan Chai Hospital for further medical intervention. The victim identified as 69-year-old Chan was eventually certified dead. He was reported to be suffering from illness during his lifetime.
