Legislative Council President hosts spring luncheon for Chief Executive and officials


23rd February 2024 – (Hong Kong) The President of the Legislative Council (LegCo), Mr. Andrew Leung, organised a spring luncheon today at the Dining Hall of the LegCo Complex. The event was attended by prominent figures, including the Chief Executive, Mr. John Lee, Executive Council members, senior government officials, and LegCo members. Almost 200 guests and members gathered to mark the Chinese New Year and celebrate the occasion.

During the luncheon, Mr. Leung expressed his gratitude for the unwavering support Hong Kong receives from the country. He emphasized that Hong Kong possesses exceptional advantages that enable it to explore diverse sources of growth and development. Mr. Leung also extended his wishes for the country’s thriving prosperity and hoped for harmony and prosperity in Hong Kong under effective governance.

Before the luncheon, attendees had the opportunity to enjoy a splendid performance by the Chinese orchestra of St. Paul’s Primary Catholic School. The orchestra had previously achieved recognition by winning an award at the Hong Kong Youth Music Interflows. The performance took place at the Main Lobby of the LegCo Complex, adding a delightful cultural element to the festive gathering.

The spring luncheon served as a platform for high-ranking officials and legislators to come together and celebrate the Chinese New Year.
