6th September 2026 – (Hong Kong) The Mid-Autumn Festival continues to be a cherished occasion in Hong Kong, bringing families together for celebration and reunion. This year, Lee Tung Avenue stands out as one of the city’s landmark destinations for festive gatherings, presenting the Moon Fest Lumiere from now until 19th October. Visitors to the avenue will discover more than 800 lanterns displayed along its iconic 200-metre tree-lined path, spanning contemporary designs and traditional palace lanterns. Through intricate, paper-cut-inspired motifs, the lanterns depict timeless Mid-Autumn legends such as Hou Yi, Chang’e, the Jade Rabbit, and Wu Gang, as well as capturing scenes of modern family celebrations, all illuminated in a sea of warm colours suspended at different heights.
On 25th September, the spectacle will reach its peak with the highly anticipated LED Fire Dragon Fiesta. The 18-metre-long LED fire dragon, a modern tribute to Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage, will parade along the avenue from Central Piazza at 8.30pm, accompanied by dramatic smoke effects, drumming performances and lively interactions with an LED lion. This event reimagines the traditional fire dragon dance, replacing incense with vibrant LED lights while conveying festive wishes to all.
Throughout the festival period, Lee Tung Avenue is also offering a variety of interactive experiences. Shoppers spending HK$300 or more on a single day using an approved electronic payment method and following the official social media pages can redeem a Mini Palace Lantern DIY Kit, allowing participants to craft their own lantern beneath the dazzling canopy of lights. On the weekends of 12th–13th and 19th–20th September, the WeekCommune market will present seasonal gifts, mini lanterns, and even mooncakes for pets, offering something for every visitor in the spirit of reunion.
Music will fill the avenue on 26th September with a Mid-Autumn concert, featuring performances by celebrated local groups including FAME Singing Academy and Pooi To Middle School String Ensemble, echoing the festive harmony of the season. In addition, Lee Tung Avenue has rolled out a series of spending rewards for both the Mid-Autumn Festival and Golden Week. Members can redeem the exclusive Lee Tung Avenue Mid-Autumn Gift Set by meeting designated spending thresholds, while shoppers during Golden Week, from 25th September to 7th October, can enjoy cash coupons with qualifying purchases.
Visitors to Hong Kong are also welcomed with complimentary mini lanterns and mini mooncakes, along with exclusive offers from selected merchants including Vincenzo Capuano, N+ Burger, Godiva, Shan Shau Jok, and Hang Heung Bakery Café, by presenting valid travel documents and proof of arrival.
This year sees the debut of the Hang Heung Cake Shop pop-up at Lee Tung Avenue, celebrating a blend of tradition and innovation. With striking installations such as the Golden Mooncake Moon-gazing Seat and the Hang Heung Future Postbox experience, the store offers festival-goers a unique way to share greetings and memories. Highlights include the new Heart-Shaped Wife Mooncake, a collaboration with Julian Cheung Chi-lam, reimagining classic pastries in both taste and form.
