1st December 2023 – (Hong Kong) At approximately 2pm today, authorities received reports of a sudden explosion of a glass curtain wall measuring 3 feet by 3 feet at LEE GARDEN Two, located at 28 Yun Ping Road in Causeway Bay. The shattered glass rained down from above, causing significant damage to the windshields of two parked cars and littering the pedestrian walkway with shards of glass. The incident also affected the exterior wall of the neighbouring LEE GARDEN 5.

Personnel swiftly arrived at the scene, cordoning it off and gathering information from affected car owners and drivers. Two female pedestrians were injured by flying glass fragments and required medical attention, with ambulances dispatched to transport them to a nearby hospital. The investigation into the cause of the incident is still ongoing.

According to the driver of one of the affected seven-seater vehicles, he had just parked his vehicle at the aforementioned location and was on a phone call when, after a mere five seconds, a “glass shower” descended from the sky. Initially mistaking it for hail, he soon realised the harrowing truth upon witnessing the shattered glass.
