Law Society investigates 2 law firms for involvement in fraudulent property transactions involving HK$62.7m

25th November 2021 – (Hong Kong) The Law Society of Hong Kong took action today (25th) to investigate Flora Lam Yan-fong Law Firm and Li & Associates Law Firm, alleging that the incident originated from a report by the police in September that a syndicate disguised as a deceased owner to sell properties involving 62.7 million Hong Kong dollars. The Law Society said that since the operation has just started, it is reviewing the situation and it needs to count how many clients are affected.

The Law Society of Hong Kong stated that this operation was due to the investigation of a suspected fraudulent property transaction with a total value of more than 60 million Hong Kong dollars in September this year. Police investigation revealed that the two law firms were suspected of participating in the handling of this property transaction. The Law Society of Hong Kong therefore launched an investigation into these two law firms.

Flora Lam Yan-fong’s office in Wan Chai has ceased operations while the main entrance of Li & Associates was covered with newspapers.
