Law enforcement officials conduct anti-drug operation in Cheung Sha Wan, 15-year-old boy arrested for drug trafficking alongside three family members

8th December 2023 – (Hong Kong) In a recent operation carried out by law enforcement officials in Cheung Sha Wan, Hong Kong, a 15-year-old boy and three other family members were apprehended for suspected drug trafficking. The operation took place on the evening of 7th December at around 9pm within a public housing estate parking lot.

During the operation, officers noticed the suspicious behaviour of the teenage boy as he placed a plastic bag into a cargo truck. Acting promptly, they approached and intercepted him. Upon inspecting the contents of the bag, approximately 260 grams of suspected cocaine were discovered.

Subsequently, law enforcement personnel conducted a search of the residence where the teenage boy resides. Within the premises, they seized an additional 16 grams of suspected cocaine. The total estimated street value of the confiscated drugs amounted to around HK$360,000.

Following preliminary investigations, the 15-year-old boy, along with two women and one man aged between 15 and 58, all residing in the same unit, were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking. They are currently being detained for further investigation. It has been reported that the three individuals found in the unit are the parents and sister of the teenage boy involved in the case.
