Labour Department to hold free briefing on employment of foreign domestic helpers on 28th June

25th May 2023 – (Hong Kong) The Labour Department (LD) in Hong Kong has announced that it will be holding a briefing on the employment of foreign domestic helpers (FDHs) on 28th June, 2023. The event will take place at the Lecture Theatre of the Hong Kong Central Library, located at 66 Causeway RoadCauseway Bay, Hong Kong, and will begin at 2.45pm.

The briefing aims to introduce the employment rights and obligations of employers of FDHs. It also aims to provide information on how to create an inclusive workplace for FDHs, with a representative from the Equal Opportunities Commission invited to share best practices. The LD encourages employers of FDHs, particularly first-time employers, to attend the briefing.

Admission to the briefing is free, and it will be conducted in Cantonese. Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Interested parties can download the enrolment form from the department’s website (www.labour.gov.hk). The enrolment deadline is 26th June, 2023.
