Kim Jong Un welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin in Pyongyang


18th June 2024 – (Pyongyang) Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), warmly greeted Russian President Vladimir Putin at Pyongyang International Airport, as reported by the official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Wednesday.

The meeting between Kim and Putin began with a handshake, followed by a warm embrace, according to the KCNA report.

Expressing his joy and delight, the DPRK leader conveyed his happiness at meeting Putin once again in Pyongyang, approximately 270 days after their previous encounter at the Vostochny Spaceport in September of the previous year, as stated by the KCNA.

In response, the Russian president expressed deep gratitude to Kim for personally coming to the airport to welcome him.

Following their arrival at the Kumsusan State Guest House, the two leaders engaged in a friendly conversation, as reported.
