“Jurassic Park”actor Sam Neill reveals battle with stage-three blood cancer

    18th March 2023 – (Otago) 75-year-old New Zealand actor Sam Neill, the renowned actor who shot to fame for his role in “Jurassic Park”, has revealed that he is undergoing treatment for stage-three blood cancer. Neill disclosed this in his memoir, “Did I Ever Tell You This?”, which is set to be released next week. He began treatment last March for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Although Neill has stated that he is currently in remission, he will continue to undergo chemotherapy for the rest of his life.

    Neill’s acting career spans back to the 1970s and includes dozens of notable roles in TV and film, such as “Peaky Blinders”, “The Hunt for Red October”, and “The Piano”. He is currently preparing for his upcoming role in the television adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s bestselling novel “Apples Never Fall”, which is due to be filmed in Australia.

    Despite the challenges he has faced in the past year, Neill remains positive and grateful for his life and friends. He has stated that he is “just pleased to be alive.” In addition to acting, Neill also runs vineyards in the scenic Central Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island.
